THE CASE IN ONE MINUTE

A beloved story became
a bookable luxury experience.

Adventures in Storyland: The Nursery 'Alice' translated Lewis Carroll's adaptation for younger readers and Sir John Tenniel's celebrated illustrations into a limited-time afternoon tea.

At ANTI:DOTE, guests moved through a richly styled literary setting before discovering savouries, sweets and drinks shaped by the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit and the story's surreal world.

THE CREATIVE CHALLENGE

Preserve the story's character while meeting five-star expectations.

The experience needed to feel unmistakably Alice without becoming a conventional themed promotion. Every detail—from interpretation and interiors to plating and service—had to respect the source material and the refined language of a luxury hotel.

ARTiSTORY built a coherent cultural narrative around the British Library collection, then worked with Fairmont Singapore to carry that narrative through the complete guest journey.

FROM PAGE TO PLATE

A story guests could
see, taste and inhabit.

The activation connected collection-led storytelling with culinary craft, a transformed venue and memorable photo moments—making the hotel itself part of the narrative.

The source stays visible

Books, framed illustrations and interpretive details kept the British Library collection present throughout the hospitality experience.

  • King's Courtroom references
  • Original-edition storytelling
  • Layered table and wall details
04

A luxury service ritual

The concept worked through the hotel's existing afternoon-tea operation, giving staff a clear narrative and guests an experience that remained recognisably Fairmont.

  • Daily bookable sessions
  • Multigenerational appeal
  • Food, beverage and cultural retail potential

CULINARY CLOSE-UPS

Every bite carried
a story detail.

Precise references to cards, clocks, mushrooms, books and the Wonderland garden gave the menu a distinctive visual identity at both table scale and camera scale.
